This will make the puppy love the crate and reach a good wait/stay. 1. Put the puppy in the crate and shut the door open the crate door straight away and feed the puppy at the back off the crate 5 times but dont feed until he sits (Do not say sit). Then close the door stand up and if he sits feed him immediately if not walk away two steps and come back if he doesnt sit repeat the first step again. 2. After a few sessions your puppy should reliably sit in the crate and not rush out when you open the door because he will be waiting for the treat. 3. Then put a lead on the puppy and stand on it and ignore the puppy until he goes into his crate. if this takes longer than 5 minutes encourage the puppy with treats and go back to step one for a few more sessions. 4. After a week or more you should walk one step away from the crate and if he stays sitting feed. if not try rocking pretending to move. If he stays try two steps etc. Eventually you will be able to leave the room with the puppy in the crate. 5. steps 3 and 4 combined next once the puppy will reliably go in the crate and sit by you saying go crate you can call the puppy out and send back in a couple off times like a game. But if you want a reliable stay make sure that the dog only comes out if you say come or ok
