is there anywhere that you can buy CHEAP dog crates?

We are going to be getting an Australian Shepherd Puppy in the next couple of months and are looking to find a dog crate- pref. used- that is on the cheaper side. Does anyone have any or anything that they are selling, reduced price?

Try http://www.craigslist.com – usually there are people on there selling unneeded and even new crates for reasonable prices.

You can also try browsing your local newspaper in the classifieds, surely one day you’ll come across someone selling an inexpensive crate.

Try looking in the Pet section of Craigslist.com. I see crates advertised there almost everyday.

    Try craigslist around your area.

I would get a crate that would fit your puppy as an adult so you won’t have to purchase another. Just use fillers for now when she’s a puppy. She should just be able to turn around and lay down in it.

We bought a canvas and mesh travel crate for $60 at one of the more expensive dollar stores. It folds down, but we use it as our stationary. It is made very well. I researched a lot of expensive crates. I saved over $40.

You could probably find a very inexpensive used one. I’m sure there are thousands of used crates for sale.
I don’t know where you live, but around here, these more-than-a-dollar stores are called Ocean State Job Lot, Odd Lot, Job Lot. You could also try big stores like Cosco’s, Sam’s Club, or BJ’s.

Craigslist is great for that, so is Ebay.

You can post a wanted ad on craigslist for the type of crate you’re looking for and people will reply with their asking price.

    Ebay is Ebay- easily understood.

    :)

Ebay possibly. If I were you though, I would ask a friend or neighbor or friend’s friends or whatever to see if they have any old pet crates that they dont use anymore. They might give it to you for free. OR you can exchange with them for like a bag of their pet food.

I just asked around town and eventually got guided to a lady who had one…the nice metal ones…and she just gave it to me. If that doesn’t work out well then you could always advertise or check craigslist.
