I can get my pup to eat his food in the crate and drink his water in the crate, it’s just when I leave him alone, he starts to cry and tries to claw and chew his way out of the crate. I’m worried because he might really mess up his own teeth.

my JRT goes into his crate when he bites or misbehaves its in our kitchen and he also sleeps in it withe the door open so he can run about in the Kitchen and all his toys are there to he wont sleep in his basket lolwe bought 1 for 35 pound and it was a waste of money =[

I think having a dog in crate its not moral,
i get it we are the same animals as dogs.
But they are still living creatures.
we are not superior than them.anyways my dog would hate it..
he doesnt like small enclosed spaces……

  • djakamoe says:

    are not* lol.

you know nothing about your dog btw, he ever tell you he doesnt like small places?… or even watch the video?

” good things happen inside his crate”

if your mother told you that every time you went into your room as a child you would get candy you would do it and like it.

  • djakamoe says:

every time you let it out of the crate bring it outside always using the keywords “potty” or “outside” a dogs bladder is as easily routine trainable as brushing your own teeth.

  • Th3Odoor says:

…dont need a crate at home. For transportation it is ok.

  • dreindabridge says:

You need to understand that dogs are pets and not kids. proper use of the crates is great for puppies

  • dreindabridge says:

Never use your crate for bad behaviour. not a good plan.

  • Jussterr says:

    The dog of queens! lol

  • perfecttargets says:

what do i do if the dog starts whining when i leave it in there? i have class and so i wont be home all day long. i dont want my frenchy thinking that the crate is a sign of me leaving or him being all alone.

  • Jelloxox says:

@XMonsterXRawwrX ur clearly ilogical. How is training your dog to not potty on the floor by putting him in a crate inhumane? Your dog would hate it because he is not trained. Crate training is the best thing for a dog. Not only does it teach him to hold his bladder, but teaches him control, protects him from getting into things he shouldnt/hurt himself..and when u travel hes already used to being in a crate.
    Wake up plz.

My Puppy is 7 weeks old when we had chosen at 4 weeks we took a blanket to the mothers owner and asked them to let her dog lie on the blanket now our puppy loves her crate so much that we have to close the door to keep her out, she whines to go in there and lie in the basket. the smell has probabley gone now, we have had her 3 days and she runs all round the house but knows where her crate is and just goes there to chillout

get a rat not a dog!!!

  • ItsallaboutTrevor says:

dogs – by nature- dig small holes that are cosey and private. some may call it a “den”. a crate is just a recreation of this. youre dog would Love a crate if he/she learns out to use it. you probably spoil youre pet so it would be nearly impossible to train your pet to use one now. and puppies need a pack leader. if everyone is on the same level as youre dog, eventually youre dog will try to take the Place as leader, and run youre household.

  • chihuahuaTrainer says:

Yeah…I might get da plastic airline crate for my chihuahua I might get!…& thankz for the tips! :P

  • JiveDadson says:

@perfecttargets Don’t leave the dog in the crate until he starts whining. If he starts whining in the crate, that’s a big setback. It’s learning that the crate is a confinement device rather than a happy home. Don’t let it happen. You should be able to tell if the dog likes being in the crate or not. If it doesn’t, train some more before closing the door. The general principle is to reward wanted behavior, but passively prevent unwanted behavior rather than trying to correct it.

  • twigs1nr says:
